Cookie Policy

We use essential cookies for language, theme preferences, and site security. No tracking cookies without your consent.

This page explains how Free Doc Tool uses cookies and local storage.

What Are Cookies? — Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help sites remember your preferences and improve your experience. Local storage serves a similar purpose but stays entirely in your browser.

Essential Cookies We Use — These cookies are required for the site to function. You cannot disable them.
freedoctool_lang — Remembers your selected language so every page loads in your preferred language. Expires after 1 year.
freedoctool_theme — Remembers your light / dark theme choice. Expires after 1 year.
freedoctool_consent — Stores your cookie-consent choice so the banner does not reappear. Expires after 1 year.
Firebase Auth session — If you sign in, Firebase sets a secure session token to keep you logged in. It is removed when you sign out.

Local Storage (Browser Only) — We also store small pieces of data in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device.
Tool usage counter — Tracks how many times you have used each tool so we can show your most-used tools.
Tool settings — Saves your last-used settings for individual tools (e.g., compression quality, page range) so you do not have to re-enter them.
Drawer state — Remembers whether the side drawer is collapsed or expanded.

Optional / Analytics Cookies — We may in the future use analytics or advertising cookies (e.g., Google Analytics, Google AdSense) to understand how visitors use Free Doc Tool and to support the site. These cookies are not set unless you click "Accept All" in our cookie-consent banner. You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser's site data and revisiting the site.

Third-Party Cookies — If you sign in via Google, Firebase Authentication may set its own cookies. We do not control those cookies; please review Google's Privacy Policy for details.

How to Control Cookies — Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Note that blocking essential cookies may prevent the site from working correctly. You can also clear local storage from your browser's developer tools.

More Information — For details on how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy. If you have questions about cookies, contact us.
